ADU's could be the new retirement home for seniors / by Kimberly Caldwell

This article from Kiplinger on December 21, 2020, speaks of many seniors helping to build an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) on their children’s property for a retirement home.

This is a great idea. And nothing new. Many communities had “granny flats” or “mother-in-law” apartments that allowed for parent or parents to have their own space and live near their families. We use the more politically correct term of ADU’s.

If you are interested in ADU’s in what that would do with your home's value, costs, and where to start, give me a call. Currently, the city of Loveland Colorado is being very favorable to ADUs on lots that would allow a unit to be added.
